PARK RIDGE, IL – Senior Alexis Maday received her fourth Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honor this season after leading the Hawkeyes to a 196.025-195.75 victory over Big Ten rival Minnesota last weekend.

Maday claimed the all-around title and placed first in three of four events against the Golden Gophers in her final home meet. The native of Upper Marlboro, MD, posted a score of 39.675 to capture the all-around while collecting a school-record score of 9.975 to win the uneven bars. She also finished first on floor exercise (9.95), tied for the top spot on balance beam (9.9) and tied for second on vault (9.85).

As the 2001 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Maday has earned eight weekly conference awards during her illustrious career. The three-time all-league selection is aiming to become the first Hawkeye gymnast to earn all-Big Ten laurels in each of her four years on campus.

Maday is ranked nationally in three events: all-around (fifth), uneven bars (second) and balance beam (22nd).

The 16th-ranked GymHawks travel to Seattle on Friday to compete in a triangular meet against No. 6 Utah and No. 12 Washington.
