Bluder's Bunch Is In!

The 2004 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament

Coach Lisa Bluder’s Iowa Hawkeyes will square off aginst Virginia Tech in a first round game of the East Regional of the 2004 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament next Sunday in Blacksburgh, Va.

The Hawkeyes are one of six Big Ten Conference teams to be invited to participate in this year’s NCAA Tournament. The list is headed by the East Region’s No. 1 seed, Penn State, the league’s regular season champion, and Purdue, the No. 2 seed in the West Region. The Nittany Lions will play Hampton in their first round game; the Boilermakers will square off against St. Francis.

Ohio State, the No. 5 seed in the Mideast Region will play West Virginia in Columbus, OH, while Minnesota, the No. 7 seed in the Midwest Region, will square off against UCLA in Minneapolis.

Michigan State completes the list of Big Ten schools “dancin.” The Spartans are the No. 8 seed in the West Region and will play Arizona.
