The 2004 Iowa Hawkeyes will make their first public appearance Saturday, April 17, when Coach Kirk Ferentz’s squad takes to the turf inside historic Kinnick Stadium at 1 p.m. for the 2004 Coca-Cola Classic. Here’s some information about that event and more…

2004 Coca-Cola Classic
Starting time is set for 1 p.m. with gates to Kinnick Stadium opening at 11 a.m. Admission is free. The 2004 Outback Bowl, Cy-Hawk and Floyd of Rosedale trophies will be available for pictures in the parking lot immediately west of Kinnick Stadium. “Elvis Herky” from the Herky on Parade program will also be available for pictures. Fans attending the 2004 Coca-Cola Classic are encouraged to bring a canned food item for the Johnson County Crisis Center. The members of the 2004 Iowa Hawkeyes will be available for autographs in the north concourse of historic Kinnick Stadium at the conclusion of the 2004 Coca-Cola Classic.

Hawk Talk with Kirk Ferentz
A special spring edition of Hawk Talk with Kirk Ferentz has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 14, from 7-8 p.m. at Carlos O’Kelly’s Mexican Cafe in Iowa City. It will be broadcast on Hawkeye Radio Network affiliates WHO Des Moines, WMT Cedar Rapids, KXIC Iowa City, KDTH Dubuque, KROS Clinton and KMAQ Maquoketa. It will also be available on the world wide web at hawkeyesports.com, the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

2004 Coca-Cola Classic Radio Special
A one-hour 2004 Coca-Cola Classic Radio Special has been scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 17, at 1 p.m. from historic Kinnick Stadium. Host Gary Dolphin will be joined by a variety of guests.It will be broadcast on Hawkeye Radio Network affiliates WHO Des Moines, WMT Cedar Rapids, KXIC Iowa City, KROS Clinton and KMAQ Maquoketa. It will also be available on the world wide web at hawkeyesports.com, the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Official Iowa Hawk Shop Spring Sale
The annual spring sale of the Official Iowa Hawk Shop will be staged the morning of the 2004 Coca-Cola Classic. Doors will open for business at 7 a.m. and will remain open until 1 p.m. Fans interested in shopping should enter historic Kinnick Stadium at the southwest corner of the facility. If weather doesn’t cooperate, the sale will be moved into the west concourse under Sections A and B. Cash, personal checks and credit cards will be accepted.

Johnson County I-Club Breakfast
Coach Kirk Ferentz will be the featured speaker at the annual Johnson County I-Club Spring Game Breakfast on Friday, Apr. 16. The breakfast will be held at the Sheraton Hotel (downtown Iowa City) starting at 6:30 a.m. All Hawkeye fans are invited to attend.
