GymHawks Finish Sixth in First Session of NCAAs

The Iowa GymHawks finished sixth in the first session of the NCAA Championships, held at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion. Iowa scored a 194.775, while Florida and Stanford tied for the win with scores of 196.85.

Senior Alexis Maday won the floor with a score of 9.95. This automatically qualifies her for the floor individual event final, to be held Saturday. Maday also led her team with a tie for 13th on vault (9.85) and a tie for 10th on bars (9.85). Freshman Danielle Legeai was the top GymHawk on beam with a 9.7 to tie for 27th. Stephanie Gran tied for fifth on floor (9.9) and led Iowa in the all-around with a total of 39.125 to place 18th.

This concludes the team season for the GymHawks.
