KGAN-TV To Air Races

IOWA CITY, IA – KGAN-TV of Cedar Rapids will air a portion of Saturday’s Iowa Musco Twilight VI track and field meet as part of their CBS-2 Sports Extra show. Sports Director Andy Garman will host the 30-minute show live from 6:30-7 p.m. at Cretzmeyer Track in Iowa City. The show will air the men’s and women’s 1,500-meter races, highlights of the afternoon events and features of current Hawkeye competitors and coaches, and former Iowa City High and Northern Iowa graduate Joey Woody.

The Iowa Musco Twilight meet is in its sixth year at the University of Iowa. The lead sponsor, Musco Lighting, provides the lights for the annual meet. Competing teams include Drake, Illinois State, Lincoln, Minnesota, Northern Iowa, Wisconsin, Wisconsin-LaCrosse and Iowa. Field events are scheduled to start at 3 p.m., running event “B” sections are set to start at 3:30 p.m. and running event finals are scheduled to start at 6 p.m. The Hawkeyes will recognize 16 seniors and their families at the opening ceremonies at 5:30 p.m. Admission to the co-ed meet is $3 for adults and students. Children ages 5 and under get in free.
