ANN ARBOR, MI – The University of Iowa men’s golf team is in ninth after the first day of competition at the Big Ten Championships. The Hawkeyes carded a two-round total of 583. Ohio State shot a 558 and leads the field by eight strokes.
Leading the way for the Hawkeyes are Bennett Hammerberg, Cade Pleggenkuhle and Andy Tiedt. The three all fired 36-hole totals of 147 to finish the day tied for 28th. Todd Larson finished the day one stroke behind his three teammates with a score of 148 and in tie for 34th. Jonathon Feldick posted a score of 150, which places him tied for 42nd. Ohio State’s Kevin Hall is leading the competition after the first day after posting an impressive 11-under score of 131.
