The Big Ten Conference announced today that Iowa’s first two football games of the 2004 season will be televised live to a statewide audience with kickoff scheduled shortly after 11 a.m.

Coach Kirk Ferentz’s squad will open its six-game home schedule against Kent State Saturday, Sept. 4, inside historic Kinnick Stadium. The Hawkeyes will entertain intrastate rival Iowa State the following week in Iowa City.

Iowa’s third and final non-conference game – Saturday, Sept. 18, at Arizona State – will kickoff shortly after 9 p.m. Iowa time and will be televised live by Fox Sport Net.

Iowa opens its 2004 season on Sept. 4 against Kent State inside historic Kinnick Stadium, the place where Iowa has won 12 straight games.

The following television stations are likely to broadcast the coverage of Iowa’s first two games of the 2004 season. Other stations and cable systems are likely to be added to this preliminary list.
