The University of Iowa women’s basketball team ranked 24th nationally in attendance among NCAA Division I institutions during the 2003-04 season. The Hawkeyes averaged 4,134 fans in 13 home games last year.
Iowa has ranked in the top 25 in national attendance 14 of the last 15 seasons. The Hawkeyes have been ranked 24th the last two years.
Overall, the Big Ten Conference (5,085) ranked second behind the Big XII (5,381). The Big Ten’s average attendance of 5,085 is a record high for the conference. The Big Ten and Big XII were the only conferences to each produce six programs ranked in the top 25 in attendance last season.
