Iowa Competes in Roy Griak Invitational at University of Minnesota

The University of Iowa men’s cross country team finished eighth place out of 25 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational held on the Les Bolstad Golf Course at the University of Minnesota.

Leading the way for the Hawkeyes was senior Matt Esche, as he finished in 23rd place with a time of 24:57. Freshman Eric MacTaggart was next for Iowa placing 36th with a time of 25:14 and Dan Haut was close behind with a time of 25:20 to finish 40th. Sophomore Micah VanDenend and junior Adam Roche crossed the line in a pack of runners with 25:49.

Wisconsin won the team title with 21 points and Badger runner Matt Tegenkamp took the individual title with a time of 24:02.

The team will return to competition on October 2 at the Murray Keatinge Invitational in Orono, ME.
