MEMPHIS, TN – – The University of Iowa men’s golf team finished 13th today at the 16-team Memphis Intercollegiate held at the par-72 Colonial Country Club. The Hawkeyes carded a 54-hole total of 919. Host school Memphis (873) won the tournament by three strokes over Xavier (880). Memphis’ Allen Thomas was the individual medalist, firing a two-under par 214.
Junior Luke Miller (West Des Moines, IA) paced the Hawkeyes, carding a 14-over par 230 to tie for 40th place. Junior Brian deBuhr (Urbandale, IA) tied for 47th after firing a three round total of 231. Sophomore Jon Feldick (Coralville, IA) tied for 62nd place, stroking an 18-over par 234. Sophomore Todd Larson (Marion, IA) tied for 66th (235), while junior Andy Tiedt (Cedar Rapids, IA) tied for 79th (238).
The Hawkeyes return to action in three weeks when Iowa competes in the Big Four Tournament, Oct. 25 in Cedar Rapids, IA.
