Madison, WI – The University of Iowa women’s soccer team was defeated by the Wisconsin Badgers on Sunday, 2-0. Wisconsin blasted 21 shots, 11 of which were on goal. The Hawkeyes were able to only fire seven shots on the night.
After a scoreless first half, Katy Lindenmuth scored in the 47th minute to put Wisconsin ahead, 1-0. Jessica Ring scored Wisconsin’s second goal off a corner from Amy Vermeulen.
Sophomores Danielle Oswald and Lindsey Phillips were active on the offensive side, both recording three shots and one shot on goal. Whitney Strain also recorded a shot for Iowa. Britta Vogele had nine saves on the night.
The Hawkeyes return home to face Penn State on Friday, October 15. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
