The Iowa football team, ranked in both polls and riding a three-game winning streak heading into its 11 a.m. (Iowa time) date with Illinois at Champaign, Ill., Saturday in a game that will be televised live by ESPN Plus, has made its first appearance in the 2004 Bowl Championship Series standings.
The Hawkeyes’ schedule for November is a tough one: nationally ranked Purdue, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Two of those games will be played at Kinnick, however.

Kirk Ferentz’s squad, 5-2 overall and 3-1 in Big Ten play, checked in at Nov. 23. The Hawkeyes are one of five league teams included in the elite list. Wisconsin is No. 7, Michigan is No. 12, Purdue is No. 21 and Minnesota is No. 25.
Southern Cal and Oklahoma are Nos. 1 and 2. Miami, Auburn and Florida State round out the top five.
Iowa faces a stiff November schedule. The Hawkeyes entertain Purdue at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 6 in a game that will be televised live by ESPN. Iowa then travels to Minnesota on Nov. 13 before returning to historic Kinnick Stadium for their season finale against Wisconsin on Nov. 20.
