Iowa-Minnesota TV Set

Nov. 1, 2004

Iowa will square off against Minnesota in this year’s battle for Floyd of Rosedale – the bronzed pig awarded to the winner of the football game played each year between the two schools – at 11 a.m. (Iowa time), the Big Ten Conference announced today. The game will be televised live by ESPN.

Iowa trails in its series with Minnesota, 58-27-2, but has won the last three meetings.

Iowa, winners of four in a row and now ranked 20th in both college football polls, entertains Purdue Saturday in historic Kinnick Stadium. That game will kick shortly after 2:30 p.m. (Iowa time) and will also be televised live by ESPN.

The 2:30 p.m. start for football means a 11:30-ish tip for the annual Black and Gold Basketball Blowout presented by Mediacom. Doors to Carver-Hawkeye Arena will open at 10:15 a.m. for this special event featuring Steve Alford’s 2004-05 Hawkeyes.

General admission tickets to the Blowout cost $5.
