Iowa vs. Minnesota Live Game Coverage

Iowa’s streaking football team has two games left to play, has won five in a row, and will enter its date with Minnesota Saturday in the annual battle for Floyd of Rosedale ranked 19th in both major polls.

Floyd of Rosedale will make the trip north with the Hawkeyes. Floyd is the bronzed pig awarded to the winner of the college football game played annually between Iowa and Minnesota.

Coach Kirk Ferentz’s Hawkeyes moved up from No. 20 in both the Associated Press Top 25 and the elite list of ESPN/USA Today.

The Hawkeyes are one of three Big Ten Conference teams included in each list. Wisconsin in No. 4 in both polls and Michigan sits at No. 9 in both lists.

Southern Cal, Oklahoma, and Auburn sit at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 in each list. Georgia rounds out the top five for ESPN; California is the fifth team in AP’s list.

Iowa garnered 450 points in the ESPN voting. It collected 522 votes in the AP list.

After Saturday’s game against Minnesota, the Hawkeyes will return home to historic Kinnick Stadium for a Nov. 20 date with Wisconsin. That game is Seniors Day and Fan Appreciation Day. The game is a sellout — Iowa’s 11th straight at home.
