Hawkeyes Finish Fourth In Windy City Invitational

CHICAGO, IL – The University of Iowa men’s gymnastics team finished fourth (6 teams) tonight at the Windy City Invitational hosted by the University of Illinois-Chicago. The GymHawks scored a team total of 217.300. The University of Illinois Fighting Illini won the meet with 221.800 total team points.

Senior Linas Gaveika finished fifth (53.100), junior Michael Reavis placed sixth (52.750), and freshman Curtis Kleffman finished eighth (52.450) in the all-around competition. Reavis also tied for third place (9.500) in the floor exercise, placed eighth (9.100) on the horizontal bar and 13th (8.850) on the parallel bars. Gaveika finished second (9.600) on the horizontal bar and eighth (9.250) on the parallel bars. Kleffman placed fourth (9.300) on the pommel horse and eighth (9.100) on the floor exercise. Senior Kenny Lin took third place (9.600) on the still rings while freshman Jake Becker took third place (9.400) on the pommel horse.

The GymHawks will take on Michigan next in Ann Arbor January 15. Competition will begin at 7:30 p.m.
