IOWA CITY, IA – The University of Iowa men’s swimming team fell to Missouri and Penn State. The Hawkeyes were beaten by the Tigers 213.5-149.5 and the Nittany Lions 227-136. Penn State defeated Missouri 189-178. The losses drop Iowa’s record to 3-9 (0-6 Big Ten).

The Hawkeyes had several strong performances in the losses. No Hawkeye swimmer was victorious on Saturday, however many placed among the top half of their races. Cameron Dye had a pair of top-five finishes in both the 200 and 500 freestyle events. Trevor Haley finished third in the 200 individual medley and the 200 butterfly. His time of 1:54.57 in the 200 butterfly was just narrowly behind the top time of 1:53.67. Dragos Agache had the highest finish of the day after swimming to a time of 2:07.01 in the 200 breaststroke. Agache’s time earned him a second place finish.

The Hawkeyes will compete next weekend at Evanston, IL against Northwestern and Ohio State. Competition will begin February 4 at 5 p.m. and will conclude February 5 at 11 a.m.
