Feb. 6, 2005

Fans of the University of Iowa and Kinnick Stadium now have a new world wide web site to use to follow the progress of the multi-million renovation of the University’s histoic football venue.

“We’ve collected information from a variety of online resources and have accumulated it in this one location for the enjoyment of all friends and fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes.”
Rick Klatt, UI associate athletics director for external affairs

kinnickrenovation.com includes information about the renovation and the construction elements and timelines, pictures of the construction effort, a link to the UI’s “webcam,” answers to frequently asked questions about the renovation and, for fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes who will be purchasing indoor and outdoor club seats in the new press box, information and schematics that will assist them in the process of selecting their seats in those premium seating areas.

“We’ve collected information from a variety of online resources and have accumulated it in this one location for the enjoyment of all friends and fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes,” said Rick Klatt, the UI’s associate athletics diretor for external affairs.

“I anticipate the site will grow weekly if not daily. Pictures, answers to questions from fans, news about the renovation, the fund-raising to support the renovation… The list of potential content is really endless,” said Klatt.

Klatt said the UI is particularly excited about the site’s ability to help fans who are purchasing indoor and outdoor club seats.

“We’re certain that it will be a valuable tool to those 500 or so fans who in the coming weeks will be selecting their seats in the public areas of the new press box,” said Klatt.

Klatt also encouraged fans who have questions about the project to use the “Comments/Suggestions” area of the site to pass on their thoughts and feedback.

“We’re at the very front end of an exciting two-plus years for friends and fans of not only our football program but architecture and the University of Iowa as a whole. We want to share that excitement and this web site should help us do exactly that.” Klatt said.
