IOWA CITY – The sixth-ranked Iowa men’s gymnastics fell to the 10th-ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers 215.325-214.15 Saturday evening at the UI Field House. The Wisconsin Badger club team scored 135.5 for third place. Iowa won three event titles and crowned four individual event champions.

Iowa junior Michael Reavis took fourth in the all-around (52.7) while fellow junior Michael McNamara finished fifth (50.85). Reavis was crowned event champion on vault (9.5), took second on horizontal bar (9.25) and finished fourth on both floor exercise (8.8) and parallel bars (8.8). McNamara took fifth on horizontal bar with a personal season-best score of 8.9 and set another season-best on rings with an 8.6, good enough for eighth place.

Hawkeye senior Shawn Stone was the top finisher on floor exercise, scoring a 9.2. Freshman Curtis Kleffman took second with a score of 8.9.

On rings, senior Kenny Lin took top honors with a 9.55 while Jacques Maurice Bouchard finished third with a 9.15. Lin also took fourth on vault (9.1).

Iowa senior Linas Gaveika was crowned champion on horizontal bar (9.55) and took second on parallel bars (8.9).

The Hawkeyes will travel to Champaign, IL, to take on top-ranked Illinois, March 5. Competition is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in Huff Hall.
