ANN ARBOR, MI – The University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team fell to fifth-ranked Michigan, 197.8-194.275. The Wolverines scored the second-best team total in school history for the win.
Junior Kortny Williamson tied a season-high 9.9 on vault to tie for second, the best finish by a GymHawk on any event. Williamson also tied for fourth with Katie Burke on beam (9.825). Romina Mazzoni tied for fifth on bars, scoring a 9.85. Senior Mindi Levitz and junior Liz Grajewski had the top scores on floor for the GymHawks, posting 9.825s to tie for seventh. Senior Annie Rue had a consistent night for Iowa, scoring a 9.8 on vault for eighth, 9.825 on bars to tie for seventh and 9.75 on beam for 10th.
The Hawkeyes will next compete Saturday, March 12 at Auburn.
