Some of the steel that will serve as the supports for the new scoreboard to be erected atop the new south grandstand at historic Kinnick Stadium was delivered and installed on Tuesday. Additional pieces will arrive in Iowa City today.
“Measuring 105 feet tall and weighing 24,000 pounds each, worked anchored and bolted in four of six columns near the south endzone that are the placemat for Kinnick’s new scoreboard,” wrote Kristin Schorsch in Wednesday’s editions of the Iowa City Press-Citizen.
