Wow! Now, that’s cool!
We’re pretty sure that will be your reaction to the newest image dropped into the “Artists Renderings and Schematics” area behind the “Photo Galleries” link on kinnickrenovation.com, the official world wide web site of the multi-million dollar renovation of historic Kinnick Stadium.
When reviewing the image, please remember that it’s an artist rendering. It isn’t 100 percent exact to what will be in place at historic Kinnick Stadium on Sept. 1, 2006. It does, however, give friends and fans of Coach Kirk Ferentz’s nationally ranked Hawkeyes a peek into the future of the UI’s prized football facility.
And, yes, while the rendering does show lights on the top of the press box, fans should note that those are temporary. The UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has worked closely with the Musco Lighting Company on what is necessary to install temporary lights atop the facility each time it is determined by the Big Ten Conference’s respective television partner that supplemental lighting of the playing field is desirable.
