Game Day in Kinnick

Sept. 8, 2005

So, you weren’t at historic Kinnick Stadium last Saturday for the season opening victory over Ball State and are curious about what the new south grandstand looked like on a game day?

Or, maybe you were there and are curious about the view of the playing field from the outdoor club seat area because you’re thinking seriously about watching the Hawkeyes from high above beginning next year when the second half of the $87 million renovation of the UI’s prized football facility is complete.

Either way, we have the images you’re looking for inside the photo gallery of kinnickrenovation.com, the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Click HERE to check them out at your leisure.

Fans of Coach Kirk Ferentz’s nationally ranked Iowa Hawkeyes are reminded that approximately 400 tickets remain available for the Hawkeyes’ Sept. 17 home game against Northern Iowa. The majority of these tickets are “singles” – single seats scattered throughout the facility. Some, however, are back-to-back and all, of course, provide you access to Kinnick.

Fans are reminded that Iowa’s four Big Ten Conference home games are sold out. It is possible that each league opponent visiting Kinnick Stadium this fall may return tickets intended for purchase by fans of the visiting team to the UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics the week of the event. If this happens, the UI will release information to the media and post an announcement on hawkeyesports.com, the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Eighth-ranked Iowa travels to Ames Saturday for a 2:30 p.m. Iowa time date with the intrastate rival Iowa State. The game will be televised live by ABC Sports to 52 percent of the country. Fans of the Hawkeyes can listen to the play-by-play of the Hawkeye Radio Network by clicking HERE
