Gary Dolphin was pretty impressed with the debut performance of the 2005 Iowa Hawkeyes last week at historic Kinnick Stadium. He liked the offense, he liked the defense, he liked the special teams. And, of course, he liked the new-look south grandstand and scoreboards that are evidence of the $87 million renovation of the UI’s prized home of its varsity football program.
The radio voice of the Iowa Hawkeyes also wasn’t unimpressed with the performance of Iowa’s opponent on Saturday – intrastate rival Iowa State. It didn’t matter that the Cyclones didn’t hit on all cylinders against Illinois State last week in Ames. They will against the Hawkeyes in the annual battle for the Cy-Hawk Trophy.

Iowa and Iowa State square off on the gridiron inside Cyclone Stadium at 2:30 p.m. Iowa time. The game is a sellout and will be televised live by ABC Sports to more than half of the country. The other half will have access to the game via pay-per-view coverage on ESPN’s GamePlan. Fans can also listen by visiting Hawkeye All-Access.
