Sept. 12, 2005

Iowa will begin its defense of its 2004 Big Ten Conference championship on Saturday, Sept. 24, in Columbus, Ohio against the Buckeyes of Ohio State. The game will be televised live by ABC Sports beginning at 11:05 am Iowa time.

Iowa-Ohio State will share the ABC time slot with Miami-Colorado. A distribution map will be available later this month.

The Hawkeyes, 1-1 and ranked in the Top 25 of both national polls, returns to action this Saturday inside historic Kinnick Stadium. Iowa entertains intrastate rival Northern Iowa at 2:30 p.m. CT. That game will be televised live by ESPN Regional and will be available on ESPN’s pay-per-view product, ESPN GamePlan.

A limited number of tickets – “singles” only – are available for Saturday’s game. Fans can purchase theirs by calling 1-800 IA-HAWKS or by visiting the UI’s online ticket office inside hawkeyesports.com, the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Iowa lost it’s 2004 Big Ten opener at Michigan last season and then rattled off seven straight victories to claim its second league title in three years.
