Talkin’ bowl game. That’s what they’ll be doing Wednesday, Dec. 14, for 90 minutes beginning at 7 p.m.

Gary Dolphin will host a special bowl-game edition of “Hawk Talk with Kirk Ferentz” that night inside Carlos O’Kelly’s Mexican Café on Gilbert Street in Iowa City, across the Hawkeye Radio Network and inside Hawkeye All-Access, the multi-media area of hawkeyesports.com, the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkyes.

Kirk Ferentz will join Gary for the first 60 minutes of the show. As always, Gary and Kirk will talk about the season just ended, the Hawkeyes’ bowl game opponent and destination, and take calls from fans of the Hawkeyes near and far.

The bowl game picture could be clear as early as mid-week next week or as late as Sunday, Dec. 4. Official information will be available at hawkeyesports.com.

Depending on the outcome of a number of games involving the Big Ten Conference teams this week and next – including the Hawkeyes’s date today with Minnesota at 11 a.m. inside Kinnick Stadium — Iowa’s post-season destination may be announced as early as mid-week next week or it could be delayed until after the series of conference championship games on Saturday, Dec. 3, and the Bowl Champion Series pairings announcement on Sunday, Dec. 4.

Fans of the Hawkeyes interested in following the team to its post-season destination can begin their planning by visiting the UI Alumni Association’s official bowl tour world wide web site. As always, the UIAA will sponsor the University of Iowa’s official bowl game tour.

And, finally, don’t forget about the 2006 Iowa Football FanFest, the annual two-day celebration of everything black-and-gold-and-football this year scheduled for Feb. 3-5 in Iowa City. Open registration will begin for new participants on Dec. 1.
