Q-and-A with Megan Skouby

Describe the circumstances around your meeting LeBron James?
“Well, I met him when we were both in a tournament together. He played the game after ours, and one of my teammates introduced us. Later I saw him in the Cleveland airport, but I don’t think he remembered me.”

What are your hobbies?
“I love to read, mostly anything, but it has to catch my attention by the first chapter or I just move on. I also am a pack-rat that collects anything I can get my hands on. From Pez dispensers, which are my favorite, to candles — I’ve got some.”

What is your favorite Matt Damon movie and why?
“This is a tough one, but it is a close race between Dogma, which is hysterical, or Bourne Identity because I like action films too.”

Which TV show (past or present) is your guiltiest pleasure?
“Gilmore Girls has to be one of my favorites, but I haven’t been able to watch most of the new season. I guess that just means I will have to go buy it on DVD.”

What song would you sing to win a karaoke contest and why?
“We Didn’t Start The Fire by Billy Joel because if I can get out all those words, I don’t really have to sing.”

What is the most bizarre food you have ever eaten?
“I am not a very adventurous eater, but I have tried calamari.”

Is there any significance to your uniform number?
“When I was younger I picked 44 in hopes that it might make me look wider because I was a pretty skinny kid. I didn’t want to be pushed around on the inside. Then I realized that the number really did nothing to help this.”

What is something people might not know about you?
“I’m addicted to the Internet. I could sit in my room for days and occupy myself either talking to people, looking up interesting information, or playing games. I also love to write poetry. I don’t know if it is any good, but I like to think it is.”

Do you have any phobias, if so which one(s)?
“I am very, very afraid of the dark. Luckily, I fall asleep before my roommate goes to bed, so there is a light on.”

Which CD or DVD in your collection would most people consider embarrassing?
“Some think my Clay Aiken CD is too much to handle, but I also have Andre Buccelli, who is an opera singer, but his voice is amazing and very calming.”

If you could speak another language, which would it be and why?
“I’ve got a head start on this one. I would love to speak French fluently. I can speak some and even conversed with locals while I was in France this summer, but I would still like to learn the entire language. I want to move to France when I am older and in order to do this, knowing the language would be bonus!!”
