The United States Track & Field and Cross Country’s Association has announced this year’s Indoor all-Americans and the University of Iowa women’s track team is well represented.

Three Hawkeyes attained all-American status for their performances at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Sophomore Kineke Alexander (Glenside, Mesopotamia) became Iowa’s fourth NCAA individual champion when she won the 400 meter dash in 52.16. Sophomore Meghan Armstrong (Tualatin, OR) placed ninth in the mile with a time of 4:46.65 in her first NCAA appearance. Junior Peaches Roach (Kingston, Jamaica) competed in the high jump for the third time and finished tied for sixth with a jump of 5-10 ¾.

In Division I track and field, the top eight finishers in each event at the NCAA Championships, including relays, are named All-Americans. In the individual events, if one or more of the top eight finishers are part of another nationality, eight American-born athletes are selected, in addition to any foreign-born All-Americans.
