I-Club Tour: Next Week's Schedule

April 21, 2006

The National I-Club’s annual spring banquet tour continues the week of Monday, Apr. 24, with stops in Mason City, Newton and Milwaukee.

The “Gold Team” of speakers anchored Steve Alford, head coach of the defending Big Ten ConfereUI coaches and staff will join fans of the Hawkeyes at the North Iowa I-Club event on Monday and the Jasper County I-Club gathering on Tuesday.

“The tour gives us a chance to thank thousands of loyal fans for their generous support of Iowa athletics and let them know how their financial support through the I-Club has made a significant impact on the success of our programs. It’s also an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of this year’s teams and look forward to the upcoming season.”

Another group of coaches and administrators will travel to the Milwaukee Area I-Club event on Thursday.

Three more events are scheduled next week: Stops are scheduled in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines and Marshalltown and all will eature the “Black Team” anchored by UI football coach Kirk Ferentz.

“These events are an excellent opportunity for fans to get a closer look at our programs,” said Matt Henderson, executive director of the National I-Club.
