The 2006 Drake Relays are off and running and the University of Iowa track team is well represented in the annual four-day event. Four Hawkeyes competed in distance races today under sunny skies on the famous blue track.
Freshman Krista Anderson and sophomore Racheal Marchand ran in the 5,000 meters today. Anderson placed tenth in a season-best 16:59.48 and Marchand ran a career time of 17:10.29.
The Relays begin tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. with the first Hawkeyes scheduled to compete in the 400-meter relay at approximately 9:30 a.m. Live results can be found at www.drakerelays.org.
