Hawkeyes Finish Eighth At Big Tens

BLOOMINGTON, IN — The University of Iowa women’s golf team finished eighth in the Big Ten Championships after playing 72 holes. In the final round Sunday, the Hawkeyes carded a 320 (+32). Iowa’s total was 1223 (+71). Purdue won the tournament carding 1179 (+27).

Amy Riepma led the Hawkeyes through the entire tournament. She finished tied for 15th, carding a 15 over par, 303. Karla Murra finished tied for 19th with a 306 (+18). Tyrette Metzendorf jumped from 30th to finish tied for 22nd after carding a 77 Sunday. Her total score is 307 (+19), while Jill Marcum finished 33rd and has a score of 311 (+23). Maggie Gelber (316, +28) and Becky Quinby (339, +51) also competed for Iowa.

The NCAA Regional Competition is May 4-6.
