Kids Day Set

Aug. 7, 2006

The fourth annual Iowa Football Kids Day will be staged Saturday, Aug. 19, at historic Kinnick Stadium. Because of the on-going renovation of the prized home of the UI’s varsity football program, friends and fans the Hawkeyes – old and young alike – will have access to the east and south grandstands only.

Gates A (south), M (southeast) and K (east) will open for access by the general public at 10 a.m.

The nationally ranked Iowa football team will begin a team practice at 10:45 a.m. when the Hawkeyes begin work on special teams play. Practice will continue until 1 p.m.

As in the past, the Hawkeyes will be available for autographs after practice. The autograph session will take place along the railing of the east and south grandstands for approximately 30 minutes.

Iowa opens its 2006 season Saturday, Sept. 2, against Montana. That game – the first of seven home dates for the Hawkeyes – will kickoff shortly after 11 a.m. and will be televised live by ESPNU.

Iowa’s 2006 home schedule also includes dates with Iowa State, Ohio State, Northern Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern and Wisconsin. A limited number of tickets are available for select home games.
