Iwebema and Grigsby to Miss Opener

Aug. 23, 2006

IOWA CITY – University of Iowa defensive end Kenny Iwebema and wide receiver Herb Grigsby, both juniors, have been suspended for the 2006 season opener against Montana. The announcement came today from Head Coach Kirk Ferentz.

Ferentz said both players were guilty of violating team policy and would sit out the Sept. 2nd opener in Kinnick Stadium.

Iwebema, a 6-4, 270-pounder from Arlington, TX, was a first team all-Big Ten choice a year ago. He has been named to numerous 2006 pre-season all-America watch lists.

Grigsby, a 6-0, 175-pounder from Mayflower, AR, started three games last year and entered fall practice as one of Iowa’s two starting receivers.
