Yeah. That’s one pretty big piece of wallpaper.
However, if you have the space – roughly 13-feet wide by 30-feet tall – one of the banners that were installed this week on the exterior of Kinnick Stadium to dress up the facility for this year’s Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series battle on the gridiron between Iowa and Iowa State can be yours.
“Sure. If a fan of the Hawkeyes wants to purchase one, two or all six, they are available for purchase,” said Rick Klatt, the UI’s associated athletics director for external affairs.
Klatt said the purchase of a banner will also include two outdoor club seats to one of the six remaining games on the home schedule for the nationally ranked Iowa Hawkeyes and a pair of tickets in the grandstand for one game.
Fans who purchase a banner will also receive a souvenir NIKE football that has the Kinnick Stadium shield burned into the leather and a tour of the new Paul W. Brechler Press Box and the operations spaces under the new south grandstand.
Fans who want more information should call the UI Sports Marketing Office at (319) 335-9431.
Six banners were produced. All six measure 30-feet in length. Two are 10-feet wide – those are placed on the west side of the stadium. The other four are 13-feet wide. The six different images include the Hawkeyes’ “Swarm”, the special teams unit, and Iowa’s offense and defense. All six banners also include the new Kinnick Stadium shield.
