Carver Going to the Dogs

Nov. 27, 2006

Dear Dog Lovers,

On Thursday, Nov. 30 – when the nationally ranked Iowa Hawkeyes entertain Iowa State in the next event in the Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series – Carver-Hawkeye Arena will be taken over by the dogs!

That night’s halftime show is an entertaining collection of man’s best friends know the “Skidmarkz” – one of the most popular halftime events of the season. You’ll love it.

That night we’re also providing friends of Johnson County’s dog population the opportunity to not only enjoy a great game and a great halftime show, but to provide support for the new Thornberry Off-Leash Dog Park in Iowa City.

Here’s how it works: The UI Athletic Department will make a $1 donation to the Johnson County Dog Park Action Committee for each of the attached coupons (see link to PDF file below) that is presented when a game ticket is purchased at the UI Athletic Ticket Office. One coupon per game ticket, please.

If you come to the game and present your coupon when purchasing your game ticket, it’s $1 for the dogs. If you bring a group of 100 to the game and each has a coupon, that’s $100 for the dogs!

If you need more, simply make a copy of the coupon. The more coupons the better it is for the Hawkeyes – a big crowd cheering the black and gold will help the Hawkeyes in this big game – and the better it is for the dogs!

The night should be a fun-filled event. If you have any questions please feel free to call the UI Sports Marketing Department at 335-9431.

We look forward to seeing you in Carver-Hawkeye on the night of Nov. 30.

Go Hawks! And, in this case, Go Dogs!
