Vote for the 'Pontiac Game-Changing Performance'

Dec. 4, 2006

Congratulations! You’ve helped the general scholarship fund at the University of Iowa move one step closer to earning $100,000!

Earlier this college football season, the UI football team’s seven-play goal-line stand at Syracuse secured the Hawkeyes’ 20-13 victory over the Orange and was voted the Pontiac Game Changing Performance for Week 2 of the 2006 college football season.

As a result of the voting, the UI’s general scholarship fund was presented a $5,000 contribution by Pontiac.

Now it’s time for friends of the University of Iowa and fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes to step up big time because $100,000 is on the line.

The UI cleared the first of three hurdles to the finals. Now, for each of the next two weeks friends of the University of Iowa and fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes again need to go to

and vote for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Each week for the next two weeks the schools with the lowest three vote totals will be eliminated from the competition. Four schools will be named finalists on Dec. 21.

Voting for the top four will continue to this year’s Bowl Championship Series title game on Jan. 8, where the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year and winner of the $100,000 contribution to that school’s general scholarship fund will be announced at halftime of the television broadcast of the game by FOX.

The UI will send you an e-mail each Friday for the next two weeks to remind you to vote. We’d ask that you put your own reminder on your calendar and that you forward this e-mail to as many friends of the University of Iowa and fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes as possible. When doing so, remind them to put a tickler on their calendars.

As always, Go Hawks!
