Ten Questions With Megan Skouby

Jan. 2, 2007

What did you enjoy most during your trip to Europe with the Big Ten All-Stars last summer?
“I enjoyed getting to know girls from the other teams and seeing Denmark for the first time. I have a strong Danish background on my dad’s side, so it was interesting and exciting to see some of my heritage.”

Is there any extra incentive in playing against Ohio State and Jessica Davenport?
“I love playing Ohio State at their place because I know I have many supporters who are going to be there that I can play for. My parents are able to make it to this game and also many of my friends.”

What is your preferred foot support?
“I would prefer to walk around barefoot, but since my coaches don’t really think that is the best idea, I usually go with slippers when it is cold and flip-flops when the warm weather hits!”

Do you collect anything?
“I wouldn’t say I am an avid collector of any one item, but this is more of a question of what don’t I collect… I am a big time pack rat and keep everything, but when I was little I was really into American Girl Dolls (I still have all six) and I really love Pez dispensers, as long as they have the candy in them!”

If you could compete on any game show (past or present), which would it be and why?
“I think it would be amazing just to compete on any game show, but I might have to go old school with something like Supermarket Sweep or The Price is Right. I would just make sure my mom is in the stands somewhere, so she can tell me how much things are.”

Do you have any pre-game rituals, and if so what are they?
“Well, all I really do is talk to my mom and my best friend on the phone before a game.”

If you could have an all expenses paid trip anywhere, where would it be and why?
“Since this one is on you, I would go to each country and spend at least a week in every single one. Then once I returned to the states, I would hit up all 50 here at home.”

What is your biggest pet peeve?
“I hate it when people bite or play with their nails. The sound it makes is just nauseating and drives me right up a wall.”

If you could have any job, what would it be?
“My dream job would be to work with children. I think I am going into my dream job as a teacher. I will be able to work with kids and in my favorite field of science. I would also love to open up a homeless shelter and a soup kitchen.”

What question(s) would you like answered?
“I have lots of questions I would like answered. Here are three of them:
1 – Why is it that when adults have multiple personalities it’s schizophrenia, but when a child has imaginary friends its cute?
2 – Why do the numbers on phones go down while the numbers on calculators go up?
3 – Why do all superheroes wear spandex?”
