Football Ticket Applications Are In The Mail

March 14, 2007

The University of Iowa Athletic Ticket Office will begin accepting orders for season tickets to the home games of the 2007 UI football team from fans of the Hawkeyes who were season ticket holders last season on Monday, Mar. 19.

All fans who purchased general public season tickets for 2006 or UI faculty/staff season tickets a year ago will receive a renewal application in the mail. Those applications will begin arriving later this week. UI students will receive an e-mail from the UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics with details about 2007 UI football season tickets on Tuesday, Mar. 20.

The renewal form for general public and UI faculty and staff season ticket holders will include a summary of the tickets purchased in 2006 including the locations of seats inside historic Kinnick Stadium, the cost of each season ticket and the total amount due. Fans of the Hawkeyes will also have the option to increase their season ticket order, reduce their season ticket order and to purchase chairbacks.

The UI sold more than 50,000 season tickets to the general public and UI faculty, staff and students in 2006 and will enter the 2007 season with a streak of 24 consecutive sellouts of historic Kinnick Stadium.

The renewal application also includes information about contributions to the National I-Club including a season ticket holder’s 2007 priority seating contribution if one is required as a result of the location of their seats. Also included in the renewal application is information about the process to request a change in seat location.

As always, fans of the Hawkeyes will have several options when placing their order for season football tickets. The process can be completed online at hawkeyesports.com, the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes, by clicking HERE, by mail and in person at the UI Athletic Ticket Office in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Last year’s customers will have until May 1 to place their order and retain their priority.

“This is always an exciting time of the year because it marks the start of another college football season at the University of Iowa,” said Gary Barta, the UI’s director of athletics.

“This is also the first renewal process under our new seating program. Our ticket office and development staff have worked hard to make this important process as simple and straightforward as possible. And, of course, they are ready to provide assistance and answers to questions when necessary.”

The 2007 Iowa Hawkeyes play six home games in historic Kinnick Stadium. The schedule includes two non-conference games including the home opener against Syracuse on Sept. 8 and four games against Big Ten Conference opponents.

Fans of the Hawkeyes who did not purchase a season ticket in 2006, but would like to receive a season ticket application can either call the UI Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800 IA-HAWKS and ask to be added to a mailing list that is being created or click HERE and put “Football Tickets 2007” in the subject line and their mailing address in the body of the e-mail.

The price for a general public season ticket is $282. The price for a season ticket for current and retired UI faculty and staff is $228. The price of a season ticket for current UI students is $132.

Fans of the Hawkeyes interested in purchasing tickets to Iowa’s game against Northern Illinois at Soldier Field in Chicago on Sept. 1 should note that the 2007 away game ticket application and the application for the purchase of single-game tickets to the UI’s six home games will be mailed in early May. The UI Athletic Ticket Office expects to be able to accommodate all requests for tickets to the Iowa-Northern Illinois game.
