IOWA CITY — Can’t make it to historic Kinnick Stadium for the University of Iowa’s first spring football event in three seasons? Well, don’t forget the radio!
Gary Dolphin, the radio voice of the Iowa Hawkeyes, and Rob Brooks, the younger half of hawkeyesports.com’s “The Brooks Brothers” and the sideline reporter on the Hawkeye Radio Network’s regular season coverage of Iowa football will broadcast live from the Paul W. Brechler Press Box for the first hour of the Hawkeyes’ practice.
The broadcast will begin at 1 p.m. and will be carried on the Hawkeye Radio Network’s flagship stations WHO Radio Des Moines and WMT Radio Cedar Rapids. KGLO Radio in Mason City and KUOO Spirit Lake are among the 50-plus affiliates of the Hawkeye Radio Network for Iowa football games that will also carry the broadcast.
Dolphin and Brooks will also have a “star-studded” lineup of guests including at the top of the hour new UI head men’s basketball coach Todd Lickliter. UI Director of Athletics Gary Bart and UI Associate Athletics Director for Patron Services Mark Jennings will appear on the show.
Dolphin and Brooks will close the hour with a conversation with UI Coach Kirk Ferentz.
Fans of the Hawkeyes who are planning to be in Kinnick Saturday are reminded that gates to the stadium will open at 11:30 a.m.. and that all fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item with them for donation to the Johnson County Crisis Center.
Food items will be collected at all gates. There will also be drop-off locations in the parking lot immediately west of Kinnick Stadium and in the Krause Family Plaza immediately south of the stadium.
