IOWA CITY — Hawkeyesports.com will provide expanded coverage of the University of Iowa football Media Day on Monday, Aug. 6. Fans will be able to watch the entire Coach Kirk Ferentz press conference live from 1:15 to 2 p.m., by logging onto hawkeyesports.com and viewing the free feed on the Hawkeye All-Access site. To watch the free content inside Hawkeye All-Access, fans will have to complete an on-line registration form. The registration is free and will take just a few minutes.

For the fans looking to do some pre-Media Day homework, the 2007 Hawkeye football media guide can be viewed by clicking MEDIA GUIDE and the Media Fact Book may be found by clicking FACT BOOK.

Hawkeye fans should check back often to hawkeyesports.com during the late afternoon on Monday and into the following week to read profiles and features on the 2007 Iowa squad and view Media Day photo galleries. There will also be several video interviews with players and coaches.

Iowa opens the football season on Saturday, Sept. 1, against Northern Illinois at Soldier Field in Chicago. Kickoff is at 2:35 p.m., and the game will be carried by ESPNU. The Hawkeyes return to historic Kinnick Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 8, against Syracuse at 7:05 p.m. The game will be aired on the Big Ten Network.

Last season Iowa finished 6-7 and played in the Alamo Bowl against defending national champion Texas. The Hawkeyes defeated Northern Illinois 24-14 at home and Syracuse 20-13 in double overtime on the road.
