Tickets on Sale For 2008 Hawkeye Women's Hoops

Sept. 14, 2007

IOWA CITY – The UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced today that women’s basketball season tickets for the 2007-08 campaign are now on sale. Fans can purchase their tickets in person at the UI Athletic Ticket Office, over the telephone (1-800-IA-HAWKS) and online at hawkeyesports.com.

Season ticket prices remain the same as last year for women’s basketball. A reserved general public seat is $70 and UI faculty is $56. Single game tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for youths and UI students are admitted free with a student I.D. Furthermore, youths will again be admitted free for weekday games (Monday-Friday, except the Drake game).

Fans interested in group sales can call the UI Sports Marketing Office at 319-335-9431.

The Hawkeyes will play 18 games (two exhibitions) inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena, the most regular season home contests in school history. Highlighting Iowa’s home non-conference schedule is the Big Ten/ACC Challenge November 28, against Georgia Tech. That contest has been tabbed “Buck Night”. Adults will be admitted for only $1, while students and youths will be admitted free.

“We are excited to get the season underway,” said Bluder. “We have some of best fans in the country who come to Carver-Hawkeye Arena year in, year out to support and cheer on the Hawkeyes. We have a wealth of experience returning and are driven to return to the NCAA Tournament.”

Iowa returns 10 letterwinners and adds three newcomers, including a sophomore transfer. The Hawkeyes will tip-off the season in back-to-back home exhibition contests against Nebraska-Omaha (November 2) and Missouri Western (November 8). The Hawkeyes open the regular season vs. Dartmouth (November 11), also at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

The Hawkeyes’ top returnees include all-Big Ten performers, juniors Wendy Ausdemore, Megan Skouby and Kristi Smith and redshirt-senior Johanna Solverson.
