IOWA CITY — The University of Iowa football team’s Homecoming game against Indiana on Saturday, Sept. 29, has been selected for national television coverage on the Big Ten Network. Kickoff inside historic Kinnick Stadium is set for shortly after 11 a.m. (Iowa time).

The game will mark the second appearance by the Hawkeyes on the Big Ten Network. Iowa’s victory over Syracuse inside Kinnick was televised in prime time by BTN.

The Big Ten Network is available on more than 50 locally-owned and locally-operated cable television systems across the state of Iowa and nationally on DirecTV and Dish Network.

The Big Ten Network plans to televise live as many as 75 events featuring University of Iowa teams including more than 35 football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball and wrestling events. In fact, at least 24 of the games to be played by first-year coach Todd Lickliter’s Iowa men’s basketball team will be televised live by BTN. Virtually all of these event will be televised in high definition.

The UI women’s volleyball team will make its debut appearance on the Big Ten Network Wednesday, Sept. 26, when it entertains Minnesota inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Live coverage will begin at 7 p.m. (Iowa time).

Iowa’s game against Indiana will be the 70th consecutive UI football game to be televised live. The last time Iowa played a game that was not televised was Nov. 17, 2001 when the Hawkeyes squared off against Minnesota in the annual battle for Floyd of Rosedale.

The Iowa-Indiana game will be one of three Big Ten games to be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network at 11 a.m., on Sept. 29. The network will also provide live national television coverage of Penn State’s game at Illinois and Michigan’s game at Northwestern.

The Big Ten Network will announce specific channel assignments for DirecTV and Dish Network no later than Wednesday of game week.
