Oct. 3, 2007

IOWA CITY – The Big Ten Conference today announced its Big Ten Network (BTN) television schedule for the 2007-08 women’s basketball season. The television package, which will televise 55 regular season contests, includes eight Iowa games to be televised live.

“The expanded Big Ten television package is great exposure for us and the league,” said Iowa Head Coach Lisa Bluder. “I’m glad we have been selected to be on the BTN eight times. Hawkeye fans and recruits will be able to enjoy unprecedented television coverage of the Hawkeyes.”

The first time Hawkeye fans can catch Iowa on the BTN will be Nov. 28 in the first Big Ten/ACC Challenge against Georgia Tech. Game time is 8 p.m. at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Seven conference games will be televised on the BTN, including four road contests. Hawkeye games at Michigan State (Jan. 10, 7 p.m.), Illinois (Jan. 21, 7 p.m.), Northwestern (Jan. 31, 8 p.m.) and Penn State (Feb. 10, 11 a.m.) were selected for television. All times listed are central.

Three Hawkeye home league contests were picked by the BTN. They are Ohio State (Jan. 6, 3 p.m.), Michigan (Jan. 27, 2 p.m.) and Minnesota (Feb. 17, 3:30 p.m.).

In addition to the 55 regular season games televised on the BTN, all Big Ten Tournament games (Mar. 6-10), leading up to the championship, will be televised on the BTN.

Hawkeye fans can also expect up to four games to be televised locally in Eastern Iowa on KCRG-TV9. That schedule will be announced at a later date.
