IOWA CITY, IA – Hosting the 34th annual Hawkeye Invitational, the Hawkeye women’s golf team stood in third place after 36 holes on Saturday. Junior Tyrette Metzendorf and senior Jill Marcum led the Hawkeyes with +7 showings, good for a sixth-place tie.
UT-Chattanooga played great first and second rounds, and at the end of the day, had a 13-stroke cushion over second-place Wisconsin. Katie Elliott of Wisconsin led all performers with a one-over-par 145. Senior Melanie Boyles ended Saturday tied for 20th while sophomore Alison Cavanaugh, playing individually, shot a 159 (+15).
The Hawkeye Invitational will conclude Sunday with 18 holes beginning at 8 a.m. Live scoring will be available on golfstat.com.
