MADISON, WI – Starting with the first leg of a three-game road trip to finish the season, the University of Iowa soccer team left Madison on Friday night after a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Wisconsin Badgers. The Hawkeyes (7-6-4, 3-5-0 Big Ten) were shut down offensively despite tallying four corner kicks in the match.

Freshman goalkeeper Kali Feiereisel made two saves in her fourth career start and figures to be in goal from here on out. Senior goalkeeper Lindsey Boldt, who started the first 12 matches for the Hawkeyes, is out the rest of the season due to a knee injury.

“We struggled to find a rhythm offensively,” Head Coach Ron Rainey said. “Wisconsin did a nice job of pressuring our defense.”

The Hawkeyes will make their Big Ten Network debut Sunday afternoon at Northwestern. The match is scheduled for a noon start time and will be aired Monday night at 7 p.m. (CST).

“We’re looking forward to coming out on Sunday and competing,” Rainey said. “Northwestern will give us a great challenge and we’re excited about being on the Network for the first time.”
