IOWA CITY – There hasn’t been a football player like Bob Sanders in an Iowa Hawkeye uniform since the Erie, Pa., dynamo completed his college football career four seasons ago and scampered off for “The Next Level.”
Today, as Sanders and the undefeated and the defending Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts continue their preparation for this weekend’s showdown against the undefeated New England Patriots in the “Mid-Season AFC Super Bowl,” the reality that there may never be another like him in the NFL either is beginning to take hold in Indianapolis and the other cities of the league.
