IOWA CITY, IA – Three University of Iowa football players have been named to the CoSida Academic District all-America team. Defensive back Adam Shada, linebacker Mike Klinkenborg and defensive tackle Anton Narinskiy have been named to the prestigious academic squad. All three players will automatically advance to the national ballot.

Klinkenborg and Shada are returning members of the CoSida Academic all-America first team and have made the district team for the third straight year. Both have also been named to the previous two academic all-Big Ten teams. Both Klinkenborg and Shada have been plagued by injuries this season.

Klinkenborg is a 6-2, 240-pound senior from Rock Rapids, IA. He has already this season been selected as one of 15 National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete for 2007 and will receive the $18,000 scholarship that goes with it. He’s also a finalist for the prestigious Draddy Award, which will go to one of the 15 finalists. He was also a 2006 second-team all-Big Ten selection.

Shada, a 6-1, 195-pound senior from Omaha, NE, has 56 tackles this season. He is a two-year starter with over 125 career tackles. He was named to the 2006 honorable mention all-Big Ten team.

Narinskiy, a 6-4, 265-pound senior from Chagrin Falls, OH, has already earned a BBA degree in accounting. He has seen limited action behind all-Big Ten candidates Mitch King and Matt Kroul.

Shada (Finance) and Narinskiy (Accounting) both had 4.0 grade-point averages, while Klinkenborg (elementary education) had a 3.95.
