Head Coach Lisa Bluder
“I was happy with our defense for the second game in a row, and I don’t know that we’ve had two real good defensive games in a row at all last season. I’m happy with our defensive effort, and that is what won us this game tonight. On the offensive end, we have to take care of the ball better and our free throw shooting was off. Those are correctable errors, though.”

“Two things were really hurting us – their fast break and our turnovers. Their best offense was us turning the ball over. That is how they scored the most points in the first half. Those are things we need to work on.”

“We looked up at our banners and we see 16 NCAA banners there and that is a great amount. But we didn’t see one from last year and we knew Drake had one from last year, so it’s definitely something we talked about today.”

Junior center Megan Skouby
“I haven’t been as dominant on the inside as I want to be, and that’s been frustrating. I was looking to step it up and just tried to get after it today.”

Junior forward Wendy Ausdemore
“Playing defense has been a lot more fun for us and we’ve been working on that since last year. To see that hard work coming through on defense really makes us happy for how hard we’ve worked on it.”
