Bob Sanders, a four-year letterwinner for the University of Iowa (2000-03) was named the Associated Press NFL Defensive Player of the Year on Monday, Jan. 7.
Sanders, a two-time Pro Bowl selection at strong safety, made 132 tackles this season for Indianapolis (74 solo, 58 assists) with 3 ½ quarterback sacks and two interceptions.
This is the fourth season in the NFL for Sanders. The Colts are 13-3 and will host San Diego in an AFC Playoff game on Sunday, Jan. 13, at noon (CST.
