IOWA CITY, IA – Senior Claire Goldenberg was named to SoccerBuzz Magazine’s Great Lakes region third team as a defender. The Oak Park, Ill., native helped lead Iowa to an 8-8-4 season in 2007 and started 62 matches as a Hawkeye. Goldenberg was a four-time Academic all-Big Ten selection.
Goldenberg was also named a recipient of the Big Ten Conference’s Sportsmanship Award, which is given to a member of each institution that displays good sportsmanship on an off the field.
“These are great individual awards for Claire to cap off a fine senior season,” Head Coach Ron Rainey said. “It is also indicative of the team improvements for her to be considered for these. We are excited for both Claire and the Iowa Soccer program.”
