IOWA CITY, IA – – University of Iowa junior golfer Tyrette Metzendorf represented the Hawkeyes well over winter break, as she tied for 18th place overall at the Harder Hall Women’s Invitational earlier this month. The competition took place January 3-6 in Sebring, FL.
The Winter Haven, FL., native got off to a rocky start with a first round score of 86 but quickly settled down. Metzendorf shot a 76 in round two, a 78 in round three and a 76 in the final round for a total score of 316. She finished tied for fourth in the first flight.
The UI junior has finished in the top 20 in each of the five fall invitationals, including three top-10 finishes. At the Lady Northern Invitational in September, Metzendorf broke the school-record for 18 holes by shooting a third-round score of 68.
